xml:space="preserve">Next week the Bulgarian Information Consortium (BIC) will be hosting the 8th eIFL.net General Assembly. All is ready to welcome around 100 library and information technology professionals, including eIFL staff and Board members, librarians representing 40 eIFL member countries in Africa, former Soviet Union, the Middle East, Central and South East Asia and Eastern and Balkan Europe, invited speakers and scholarly publishers which cooperate with eIFL.net.

As usual, this year's GA will be an intensive 3 day knowledge sharing event of the eIFL network. The conference will give updates on the eIFL.net working agenda, will be a golden opportunity for librarians from member countries to interact with each other, eIFL staff and publishers and will encourage a lively discussion amongst all participants on latest developments in the profession, such as digitisation of local heritage and the rise of e-books. The keynote lecture this year will have the SciELO initiative at its center. The full program and related info are available at
www.eifl.net
and in the attachment here you can already meet the faces of the eIFL local team in Sofia.
