KENET ...<p>Margaret Ngwira, Malawi Library Consortium (MALICO) secretary and Board Member for UbuntuNet Alliance reports a very successful 2nd Council of Members Meeting of the Alliance in Lusaka on April 18th where 4 new member NRENs were received into full membership. This award honours librarians “making a difference in Libraries and Information Services outside of the U.K.”
As Director of Malawi ...<p>On April 15th the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals CILIP) announced Mr. Gray Nyali, Director of Malawi National Library Service as the recipient of the 2008 International Library and Information Group (ILIG) Award. This award honours librarians “making a difference in Libraries and Information Services outside of the U.K.”</p>
<p>As Director of Malawi ’s National Library Service, Mr. Nyali has worked extensively with Book Aid International and various other partners to deliver a public library service that enables the people of Malawi to enjoy democratised access to information, books, education, news, social spaces… </p>
