2006.06.19 - EIFL members get wise with SAGEPRESS RELEASE
June 16, 2006 On 31 March 2006 eIFL.net signed an agreement with SAGE Publishing for access to the SAGE Premier Collection of electronic journals. The Premier Collection contains 390 full text peer-review journals in the areas of Art and Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences and Scientific, Technical and Medical Fields. From the Journal of Business Communication to Clinical Nursing Research and East European Politics and Societies, eIFL members can avail of access to these top quality, high-impact research journals for their students and researchers. The agreement between eIFL.net and SAGE Publishing means that institutions and consortia in eIFL.net countries can access the SAGE Premier Collection for a three year period from 2006 until 2009 at greatly discounted rates. The Consortium of Slovene Electronic Collections (COSEC) with 210 members in university, college, public and special libraries is already making good use of the new journals. “I would like to thank eIFL for their excellent work in negotiating an agreement with SAGE Publishing. The librarians are happy, the end users are happy!” said eIFL Slovenia country coordinator, Karmen Stular Sotosek. Take-up has continued with four libraries in the Serbian Library Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition (KoBSON) and ten institutions in the Lithuanian Research Library Consortium (LMBA) availing of the new deal. If you are an institution in one of the eIFL countries and would either like to know whether your institution has access to SAGE Publications or how to gain access to them, please contact the eIFL country coordinator.
