Planned training eventsMonday February 22 the first Southern African Greenstone Support Network training workshop for Senegal will start in Dakar. The workshop also welcomes participants from Burkina Fasso and Mali in the context of the regional French language (Greenstone) digital library building project "Bibliothèque numérique pour la jeunesse africaine francophone" and marks the occassion of launching the Senegal National Centre as additional node in the Southern African Greenstone Support Network. The Senegal Centre is a shared responsibility of the Université Gaston Berger - Bibliothèque Centrale (Saint Louis) and the Institut Sénégalais de Recherches Agricoles (Dakar) and hosted by the Gaston Berger University Library. The workshop will run until February 25th. Monday February 8 the first Southern African Greenstone Support Network Greenstone training workshop for Kenya will start in Nairobi. The workshop also welcomes a participant from Ethiopia and one from Uganda (Makerere University) and marks the occassion of launching the Kenya National Centre as additional node in the Southern African Greenstone Support Network. The Kenya Centre of Expertise for Greenstone Digital Collections is a responsibility of the University of Nairobi Library The workshop will run until February 11th. Monday October 26 2009 the first Southern African Greenstone Support Network Greenstone training workshop for Tanzania will start in Dar es Salaam. The workshop marks the occassion of launching the Tanzania National Centre as an additional node in the Southern African Greenstone Support Network. Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology COSTECH is the driving force behind the Centre. This workshop will run until October 30. |
