He has extensive experience presenting papers and giving seminars on a wide range aspects of legal issues in information work. He has published various articles and papers and is a joint editor and contributor to the 2nd edition of Staying Legal: A Guide To Issues And Practice Affecting the Library, Information and Publishing Sectors, FACET (2003).
Teresa Hackett Teresa Hackett is the Project Manager of eIFL-IP: Advocacy for Access to Knowledge, a programme to raise awareness in copyright issues for libraries in eIFL.net member countries and to represent their interests in international policy fora. Teresa was the Director of the European library association (EBLIDA) from 2000-2003, provided technical support to the European Commission library research programme and was part of the team to establish electronic information centres at the British Council Germany. Teresa has a special interest in legal issues in information work, especially n the electronic environment, and has worked as a consultant to a variety of European organisations. She is a member of the Copyright and Other Legal Matters Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA-CLM). Teresa is a chartered librarian and in 2004 completed a post-graduate diploma in legal studies at the Dublin Institute of Technology. Teresa is a native English speaker and speaks Irish, German and Dutch. Mariana Harjevschi Mariana Harjevschi is the director of the Public Law Library from Chisinau, a branch of the Municipal Library "B.P.Hasdeu" financed by Soros-Moldova Foundation and COLPI. She holds a Master's in Library Science and Information Assistance and a Master's in Journalism from Moldova State University. She is an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Library and Information Assistance and a trainer at the Training Centre - Librarianship School of Moldova. She attended the Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute in Budapest and "Training the Law Librarian" courses in Budapest, Moscow, and Riga. Ahmed Abdel Latif Ahmed ABDEL LATIF, Programme Manager - Intellectual Property at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) in Geneva. Earned a LLM Public International Law (Merit), University of London, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a Specialization in United Nations Law and Treaty Law; a B.A. in Political Science - International Relations (Cum Laude), American University in Cairo; and, Diploma in International Relations, Institute of Political Studies - Paris. As career diplomat, has worked at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations - Geneva; Department of United Nations Affairs; Department of International Development Cooperation; Institute for Diplomatic Studies; and, as Lecturer at Faculty of Law, Cairo University. He is a citizen of Egypt. |
