Consortium eIFL Direct Moldova and eIFL.net organised a workshop Open Access: Exploring Scholarly Communication on June 23-24 in Moldova Economics Academy, Chisinau.

Open Access is gaining the momentum in Moldova. National Council for Accreditation and Attestation maintains an Open Access ETDs collection with 855 current theses, including 94 theses for the degree of doctor habilitate (http://www.cnaa.acad.md/en/theses/). There are at least 10 Open Access journals published in Moldova by the scientific and research organizations of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (some of them are listed here: http://www.asm.md/?go=activitatea&csdt=2&new_language=1).
