KUIR is the fist institutional repository in Azerbaijan. Administrated by Khazar University Library Information Center, the KUIR showcases the research outputs of Khazar University staff, http://dspace.khazar.org.

Materials in the repository are selected by the university’s research faculty. Pre- and post prints of scholarly articles from the Azerbaijan Archeology, Journal of Azerbaijani Studies and Khazar Journal of Mathematics are the first records in the academic journals collection as well as presentations and conference materials from the Library Information Center.

The repository managers received training and advise during the study visit of repository managers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan to Ukraine hosted by Informatio Consortium and National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and organized by eIFL.net on June 18-21, 2008 (http://www.eifl.net/cps/sections/services/eifl-oa/oa-news/2008_06_30_study-visit-repository").
