On October 21-25, 2008 The "Central Asia - 2008: Internet and Library and Information Resources in Science, Education, Culture and Business" 5th Anniversary International Conference took place in Fergana city (Uzbekistan).

170 persons, including representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, USA and Uzbekistan, participated in the Central Asia 2008 Conference.

Director of the library of American Universiry in Central Asia and eIFL IP and eIFL OA country coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Safia Rafikova participated in this Conference.

She presented two reports: "Electronic Information for Libraries - eIFL in Kyrgyzstan" and Information Technologies in Libraries of Kyrgyzstan - creation of corporate electronic resources".
