42 participants from the University of Botswana, National University of Lesotho Library and Lesotho College of Education, University of Malawi, DANS (the Netherlands), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Development Bank of Southern Africa, Durban University of Technology, National Bioproducts Institute, Port Elisabeth Museum, Rhodes University, South African Resource Heritage Agency, UNISA, University of Cape Town, University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg (South Africa), REPOA Research Institution (Tanzania) and Zimbabwe Open University participated in the Gaining the momentum: Open access & advancement of science and research workshop that took place on May 14, 2009 at CSIR Conference Centre, Pretoria, South Africa. Workshop was organised by Susan Veldsman, Director: Scholarly Publishing Unit, ASSAf, & Iryna Kuchma, Open Access program manager, eIFL.net. This workshop was a part of the African Digital Scholarship 2009 Conference.
