A. Collection of leading bibliographic databases

This collection contains a very nice range of databases covering the main subject areas in the academic area and providing access to more than 32 million records from more than 18.000 journals. With Links@Ovid You will also have access to the fulltext from several hundred free journals at article level.

ISD – International Science Database by INIST/CNRS

International Science Database (ISD) is a comprehensive bibliographic database covering approximately 8,000 periodicals spanning a wide range of subject areas including Medicine, Pharmacology, Biology, Psychology, Applied Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and many more. ISD provides cost effective access to the most trusted academic content available combined with research and learning tools to empower your work.

IBSS – Intl.Bibliography of the Social Sciences by British Library of Political & Economic Science of the London School of Economics & Political Science
1981-present / 2.3 million records / bibl.+abstracts
International Bibliography of Social Sciences, from the British Library of Political and Economic Science of the London School of Economics and Political Science, indexes the information contained in over 2,600 social sciences journals and 6,000 books each year. Coverage includes both core and specialized material from over 100 countries in more than 90 languages. Approximately 70% of the records are in English, and articles in other languages are displayed with both the original language title as well as with an English translation. The comprehensive coverage provided in the database, while based on the core disciplines of anthropology, economics, political science and sociology, also reflects the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of the social sciences.

Eric by U.S. Department of Education; Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC)

ERIC, sponsored by the US Department of Education, is the premier national bibliographic database of education literature.
ERIC consists of two files: Resources in Education, which covers the document literature, consisting of research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, conference papers, and books; and Current Index to Journals in Education, which covers published journal literature from over 775 periodicals.
Ovid's ERIC also includes the full text of ERIC Digest Records. These one- to two-page records, written specifically for teachers, administrators, and other practitioners, provide an overview of information on a given topic and supply references with more detailed information. ERIC subscriptions are available in various coverage options. Ovid's ERIC document records include links to ERIC documents, available electronically through ERIC Document Reproduction Service (EDRS).

Agris by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

AGRIS provides worldwide bibliographic coverage of agricultural science and technology literature. Assembled by the AGRIS Co-ordinating Centre, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, AGRIS offers an international perspective on crucial agricultural research. The many aspects of agriculture, including forestry, animal husbandry, aquatic sciences and fisheries, and human nutrition from over 135 participating countries are covered. Literature includes unique material such as unpublished scientific and technical reports, theses, conference papers, government publications, and more. Approximately 130,000 records are added each year with key words in English, French, and Spanish.

Agricola by US National Agricultural Library

AGRICOLA offers vital agricultural information from 1970 to the present. It contains over 3.7 million citations to journal articles, monographs, theses, patents, software, audio-visual materials, and technical reports related to agriculture. These records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics and earth and environmental sciences.
AGRICOLA serves as the document locator and bibliographic control system for the NAL collection. The extensive file provides comprehensive coverage of newly acquired worldwide publications in agriculture and related fields.

OVID Medline® by the National Library of Medicine
1950-present / 13 million records / bibl.+abstracts
Medline is the world´s most reknown database in the field of clinical medicine and biomedicine, including verterinary medicine, psychology, psychiatry and neurosciences.

B. Ovid Nursing Database (OND) - optional with FullText

Ovid Nursing Database (OND) is a bibliographic database with abstracts that contains more than 400.000 records purely in the field of nursing. It covers more than 90% of all literature in what is supposed to be “core nursing”. Through Links@Ovid, You get access to thousands of free fulltext articles. In addition, You may decide to combine OND with 4 of the world´s absolute top journals in nursing with current, embargo-free access to all articles in the current issues and back to 1996 for 3 of the titles.

C. Ovid LinkSolver

LinkSolver® is an OpenURL-LinkResolver. This tool enables a library to link numerous resources with each other, as long as they are OpenURL compliant. For example, You can link directly from a databases record to the electronic article you subscribe to, a catalogue, document delivery services and many other targets. Currently LinkSolver let´s You handle Your journal holdings for up to 25.000 journals. In addition, LinkSolver can be used to setup any target on Your own and it works form any OpenURL compliant source, not only the Ovid platform, so that it can be the central tool behind all Your resources.
