Past and current EIFL-PLIP grants

Grants for libraries in Ghana, Kenya and Uganda

In December 2011 EIFL-PLIP launched an invitation to public and community libraries in Ghana, Kenya and Uganda to apply for grants to implement innovative community development services in the areas of agriculture, health, employment and vulnerable children and youth at risk. This call is now closed. The names of successful applicants will be announced in April 2012.

Replication grants

In November 2011 we awarded grants to 14 public libraries to implement innovative community development services in the areas of health, agriculture, children and youth at risk, and employment. These 14 public libraries, in Europe, Latin America and Africa, are replicating services from the first phase of EIFL-PLIP.  Read more about these innovative services.

PLIP Phase 1

In May 2009 we awarded grants to 12 libraries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America to use technology to spark innovative community development services. These are our EIFL-PLIP pioneer libraries. They achieved remarkable results and positive community impact. All 12 services have received support and contributions from government, business or philanthropic foundations to sustain them in future.

We are sharing their stories and experience to inspire other libraries to replicate their innovative services. Read more about our EIFL-PLIP pioneers.
