African Library Summit 2011

EIFL staff Monika Segbert-Elbert will be presenting at this year's African Library Summit held in Muldersdrift, Gauteng (South Africa).  The theme of the summit is The Future of African Librarianship and is being hosted by Unisa Library, the IFLA Regional Office for Africa and the IFLA Africa Section. 

Ms. Segbert-Elbert will be presenting the results of a study in the 5th Plenary Session titled Whoever's heard of libraries? Researching perceptions of public libraries in 6 African countries scheduled for Thursday, 12th of May from 14:00 - 14:20.

Kathy Matsika, EIFL-IP coordinator from Zimbabwe will also give a presentation during the 4th Plenary Session (Thursday, May 12 at 10:00 - 10:15) on Intellectual property issues in the 21st century and Helena Asamoah-Hassan, Member of the EIFL Advisory Board will present at the 2nd Plenary Session (Wednesday, May 11 at 10:45 - 11:05) The role of African Library Associations in the development of the 21st century information service profession.
