Geneva, Switzerland

EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Advisor for Initiatives for Africa, Janet Sawaya, will attend the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2017. The theme of the IGF this year is ‘Shape Your Digital Future!’.

The IGF is a multistakeholder space that brings together stakeholders from government, industry and civil society to discuss public policy issues relating to the internet.

At the IGF, the Dynamic Coalition on Public Access in Libraries (DC-PAL) will meet on 19 December from 12.30 - 1.30pm CET to discuss how supportive public policies can grow digital inclusion through public libraries.  See the IGF 2017 programme here.

EIFL is a founder of the DC-PAL, which was created by EIFL and IFLA (the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) at the Internet Governance Forum in 2011. The DC-PAL aims to engage the IGF community in discussion about public access to the internet and the role and potential of libraries.
