On November 17, 2011, Dspace@ScienceUofK, the Faculty of Science, University of Khartoum institutional repository (OASCIR project) will organize an Open Access workshop. EIFL Open Access Programme Manager was invited to give a presentation.

The workshop is a final dissemination event of the EIFL funded project OA awareness-raising campaign among researchers at the Faculty of Science, University of Khartoum (UofK) implemented by the UofK Faculty of Science, and GrandIR, C.B., travel support provided by Carlos III University Madrid.

Some highlights from the project:

  • OASCIR Training Week (Jul 24-30th) – Open access repository advocacy campaign for Faculty of Science UofK researchers and technical staff;
  • Open access network built as a result with representatives from projects and institutions outside UofK interested in the pioneering project carried out there;
  • UofK Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Mathematics expressed interest in contributing;
  • OASCIR End of Project International Conference in Khartoum: a good opportunity for making the project widely known across UofK and well beyond.
