Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU) invites you to the Third International Conference on Open Access, that will take place on 13-14 April in Bydgoszcz, Poland, at Collegium Medicum NCU. This year's theme is Open science and Open education. More information.
Target audience: researchers, educators, librarians, information professionals from higher education institutions.
The conference aims at bringing together different communities from research and higher education institutions: researchers, educators, librarians and students. Librarians and information professionals will learn more about new approaches to science, tools and workflows used and resources required, as well as about e-science, science 2.0, open science and current approaches to teaching and learning in higher education institutions including open educational resources. Educators and researchers, librarians and information professionals will also discuss transparency and openness in science, research and education. We hope that as a result of the conference more close cooperation between different communities will be established to raise the quality of research, teaching and learning. Such kind of cooperation is inevitable in the digital environment and will help to optimise the use and sharing of digital resources.
Polish stakeholders need new knowledge and new future oriented approaches to science and education. Therefore, this conference will consist of two parts: open science and open education and each of them will have introductory sessions as well as interactive discussions about new tools used and possible areas for collaboration.
University Library in Torun jointly with the EBIB Association, Coalition for Open Education and EIFL has organized this conference for the third time. The conference organizers believe that openness is crucial for global innovative developments and it has been promoted by international organizations: European Commission, OECD and UNESCO, research institutions: CERN, Max Planck Society and INIST-CNRS, and organizations involved in information and digital technologies for education and research: the Joint Information Systems Committee and others (see the OAD Advocacy Organizations page).
