Technologies of scientific, educational and technical information development and use in electronic libraries

Organizer: National Library of Uzbekistan

Place: Tashkent, Fergana, Samarqand  (new building of the National Library of Uzbekistan, Fergana Information Library Center, Samarkand State University).   

Presentations and seminar goals: introducing and learning about new technologies related to the creation of databases of scientific, technical and educational information and their use in universities and libraries.

Target group: heads of academic and public libraries; librarians; students and professors of universities and colleges. 

Seminar subjects

• Important databases of leading publishers of electronic scientific and educational information (Emerald, Springer, EBSCO publishing, OCLC and etc.) and how to use them in universities of Uzbekistan and other Central Asia republics;
• Technologies related to the creation of electronic libraries;
• Corporative information and library networks of educational and scientific organizations.

Proceedings of materials of the seminar and presentations will be published and distribute to participants and Uzbekistan universities and libraries. The collection will consist of outreach materials, selected presentations and reports, information about automated library systems, electronic recourses and companies.
