VuFind (search engine and portal software) webinar from EIFL-FOSS

The next in the series of EIFL-FOSS webinars will highlight the use of VuFind, the search engine and portal tool. 

VuFind operates with a simple Google-like interface, offering keyword searching, faceted searching, suggested resources, personal organisation (eg favourites tagging or commenting features), and offers versions in several languages including French, Chinese and Hebrew.

The webinar will cover such topics as:

  • What is VuFind
  • Why Swansea University chose VuFind
  • How Swansea University implemented VuFind.
  • Initial implementation of SWWHEP project (a multiple library single-search function)
  • Current developments with VuFind at Swansea University (including archives data search, and interaction with wider VuFind development community)
  • Future plans (including integrating PrimoCentral searches into VuFind)

The guest speakers for the session will be Mark Hughes, Head of Collections at Swansea University Library, and Luke O'Sullivan, Library Systems Developer at Swansea University.
