Dear List Members,
Many of you are familiar with the idea of National Centres in the
Southern African Greenstone Support Network (SAGSN): either you had
training there followed by support or you were in one of the other
African Greenstone workshops and heard about it.
This year and the next an eIFL FOSS SA Greenstone project is not only
strengthening the SAGSN National Centres that we have [1] but is also
looking at extending the Support Network to other countries in and
beyond the Southern African Region by having additional Centres set
up.
To realise this second project goal a "Call for Additional National
Centres" has been issued which is available on the web together with
background information and further guiding documents [2].
If your library (or related organisation) is actively engaged in
digitisation efforts & digital libraries and interested in taking up
responsibility as National Centre supporting Greenstone digital
collection building - or if you know another library in your country
that could take that role feel free to contact me off-list for further
discussion [3]
Regards
Amos Kujenga
