Dear eIFL coordinators and members of the eIFL-OA list,

At the last General Assembly it was obvious that there is so much we
have to share and there is still so much to be done. We already have a
full time Manager for eIFL-IP and eIFL -FOSS. Susan Veldsman was
spending part of her time on Negotiations and another part of her time
on the development of the Open Access and Institutional repositories
program. eIFL.net also greatly benefitted from the time allocated by
Melissa Hagemann to Open Access advocacy in developing countries. 

As the list of our publisher partners is growing and there is still so
much to be done in making best use of these resources and identiying
barriers that hinder the use of e-resources in some of our countries, we
decided that eIFL Negotiations program should have a full time Manager
and who better but Susan Veldsman, will be spending all her time and
energy on this program.

For the eIFL-OA program we were able to recruit Iryna Kuchma from
Ukraine to take the position of a full time Manager. She will take
forward work that had been done by Susan on IRs and develop OA Advocacy
program. Her e-mail is iryna.kuchma at eifl.net

I am happy to report that each of our eIFL programs now has a dedicate
program manager and we are ready to undertake even more activities than
we could until now. We promise, you will be very busy this year.
