Presentation by former EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Africa Programme Manager, Sandra Adomaviciute, to the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2012 (Helsinki, Finland).

The presentation discusses key findings of the pioneering 2012 study, Perceptions of Public Libraries in Africa, commissioned by EIFL and conducted by the social marketing and research company, TNS-RMS East Africa. 

The study researches perceptions of public libraries held by national and local stakeholders (municipalities, ministries, public agencies, media, librarians) and the general public, in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
