Two libraries win EIFL-PLIP health award

EIFL’s Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) is proud to announce the winners of our second Innovation Award – for library services that contribute to the health of the community.

Congratulations to two public libraries in Africa and Europe –

• Hoima Public Library in Uganda for their Improving Community Health Through ICT service, and
• ‘Gh. Asachi’ County Library Iași in Romania for their First Aid Toolkit service

Winners receive a prize of US$1,500 and an invitation to showcase their winning services at the Beyond Access Conference 2012 in Washington in October.

Thanks to the winners and to all the other libraries that applied for sharing stories about their innovative health services with us.

The EIFL-PLIP Innovation Awards recognize innovative services that use ICT to improve lives and livelihoods. The awards are open to all public and community libraries in developing and transition countries.
