Dear All,
Congratulations go out to the Evergreen integrated library system
(ILS) [1] and the Georgia Public Library Service of the University
System of Georgia [2] who have been awarded $50,000 for the
development and release of Evergreen.
The $50,000 award is part of $650,000 awarded by the Andrew W. Mellon
Foundation in the second annual Mellon Awards for Technology
Collaboration (MATC) [3]. The MATC honours not-for-profit
organizations for leadership in the collaborative development of open
source software tools with application to scholarship in the arts and
humanities, as well as cultural-heritage activities. 10 recipients
were selected following a worldwide public nomination process.
Evergreen is one of the two FOSS ILSs that are the focus of the
eIFL-FOSS ILS project [4].
