The 42nd session of WIPO's Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) takes place in Geneva from 9 - 13 May 2022. It is the first full meeting since the start of the pandemic. It will take place in hybrid format, with in-person participation in Geneva and online.
During COVID-related travel restrictions, member states did not engage in negotiations or decision-making, and observers, such as EIFL, could not attend. Now restrictions are lifted, and SCCR is back in business!
In this hour-long EIFL webinar, you can find out what’s on the agenda of SCCR/42, learn about a new proposal from the African Group for a work programme on exceptions and limitations at SCCR, and how you can support libraries and the right to research before, during and after SCCR/42.
Teresa Hackett, EIFL Copyright and Libraries Programme Manager, and Dick Kawooya, University of South Carolina, will highlight the key issues, and share practical information on how you can get involved.
- Date/Time: Tuesday, 12 April at 13.00-14.00 UTC/GMT +1 hour. Please check your time zone here.
- Registration: Please click here to register.
The webinar is free and is open to librarians, educators and anyone who supports the introduction of global rules to benefit libraries and the right to research.
