UNESCO is hosting an online consultation for Indigenous People on the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science that will provide a platform for indigenous peoples to provide their views on opportunities, challenges, needs and ways forward for indigenous and local knowledge and open science.

Comments and recommendations will shape the draft UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science.

In May 2020 the Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO invited EIFL to join the UNESCO Open Science Partnership and to contribute to the global consultation on open science. Iryna Kuchma, EIFL Open Access Programme Manager, is a member of the UNESCO Open Science Advisory Committee that drafted the recommendations that will be discussed at the event.
