Kericho, Kenya
A group of Kenya National Library Service trainers post sticky notes to newsprint during training in Mombasa, Kenya.
Sharing ideas on sticky-notes: newly-skilled Kenyan public library trainers attended EIFL communications and advocacy training in March 2019. Five of the trainers will now pass on their knowledge and skills to their colleagues.

Five public library trainers from the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) will train 18 public librarians from 12 KNLS libraries in communications and advocacy skills.

The five trainers learnt training skills as part of a major EIFL-KNLS initiative to strengthen continued professional development of public librarians in Kenya. They attended communications and advocacy training organized by EIFL and KNLS in March 2019, and are now passing on their knowledge and skills to their colleagues.

The trainers are Purity Kavuri from KNLS/Nakuru Public Library,  Koi Kazungu from KNLS/Kwale Public Library and Rebecca Wangeci, Timothy Mahea and Nancy Ngugi, from KNLS headquarters in Nairobi. At the end of the workshop, EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme Capacity Building Manager Susan Schnuer will work with the trainers, giving feedback and providing further coaching as needed.
