Teresa Hackett, EIFL Copyright and Libraries Programme Manager, will speak at a meeting of the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) Section for Libraries Serving Persons with Print Disabilities to address ways of providing Ukrainian refugees with print disabilities with accessible books. EIFL has produced an information sheet on this topic.
The meeting will provide an update from the Lithuanian Audiosensory Library on their work with Ukrainian refugees in Lithuania. It will also discuss how to connect Ukrainian refugees with print disabilities to audiobooks in Ukrainian that are available in Lithuania. Over seven million Ukrainians have relocated to other European countries since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
