Join this ‘Virtual Break’ – an informal online discussion organized by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) on bridging the digital divide in lower-income countries.

In this session we will explore how public and community libraries serving communities in lower-income countries can work together to expand access to digital devices, internet connections, digital skills training and other services that broaden access to online information.

We will have three guest speakers:

  • Raymond Amanyabyoona of the National Library of Uganda and Catherine Amia Walsh of the Community Libraries Association of Uganda (COLAU) will talk about engaging public and community libraries in digital initiatives.
  • Alexander Zambrano and Daniela Camacho, both of Bogotá's public library network – BIBLORED – will explain the Collaborative Outreach Strategy Between Public and Community Libraries in Bogotá and share examples of successful common projects.

There will be time for questions and answers, feedback, and sharing good practice at the end of the virtual break.

Date and time: Thursday, 12 November 2026  15.00 UTC+2 (up to 90 min). Check your local time here.
