Compilation of 11 examples of the impact of COVID-19 on the work of libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic, from a copyright and licensing perspective. The examples were submitted by EIFL to the WIPO Information Session on the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Copyright Ecosystem, and highlight experiences from Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

The examples show that in times of a global emergency, libraries and educators need clear rights backed by law. In addition to demonstrating difficulties experienced by libraries trying to support education and research during the pandemic, the examples highlight strategies found to overcome these difficulties.
