EIFL advocates at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for an international copyright framework that benefits libraries in developing and transition economy countries. We participate in sessions of WIPO’s Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) that meets in Geneva usually twice a year. Here we work with Member States and the WIPO Secretariat to increase understanding of library copyright issues in the digital environment and to encourage support for international copyright law reform. We also participate from time to time in other WIPO meetings, such as the annual WIPO Assemblies, and we cooperate with other NGOs on areas of common interest.

This is a collection of interventions made at WIPO meetings in 2019 on agenda items including Limitations and exceptions for libraries and archives, Limitations and exceptions for education and for persons with other disabilities, Protection of broadcast organizations, and Other Matters.
