The ‘Digital learning @ Ghana public libraries’ project aims to create educational opportunities for school children in Ghana.

Ramune Petuchovaite, Manager of the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP), and Ugne Lipeikaite, EIFL-PLIP Impact Manager, will take part in a national stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) to officially launch the ‘Digital learning @ Ghana public libraries’ project

The two-year project, implemented by partners EIFL, GhLA and TechSoup, aims to create educational opportunities for school students aged 12-18 by building capacity of public libraries to provide them with advanced ICT and information literacy training, and connecting them to free and open educational resources.

GhLA has invited representatives of key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), headmasters of schools and other partners to the meeting. Presentations and discussion will cover the results of research to establish ICT learning needs of children and libraries’ training capacity, and the project’s implementation plans.
