EIFL and the Ghana Library Authority to speak at this international conference focused on digital education, training, and skills development in Africa

EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Impact Manager Ugne Lipeikaite and two staff members of the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) – Ursula Birago-Yeboah and Nora Serwah Obeng – will take part in the eLearning Africa 2026 conference. The conference is a major global knowledge sharing event focused on digital education, training and skills on the African continent. 

EIFL and the GhLA representatives will present experiences from the Digital Learning @ Ghana Public Libraries project, which builds digital and information literacy skills of school students aged 12 - 18 and introduces them to free and open online educational resources. The presentations take place as follows:

  • Friday, June 5, 10-11am: Session EDT39, Localizing Open Educational Resources to Address Misinformation in Ghana (EN): Nora Obeng will give a presentation titled, ‘Localising Open Educational Resources to Fight Misinformation in Ghana’.
  • Friday, June 5, 12-13:15pm: Session SCH48, School and Community Innovation for Future Ready Secondary Education (EN): Ursula Birago-Yeboah will give a presentation titled, ‘Empowering Youth Through Libraries – Competency-Based Digital Learning Pathways in Ghana’.
