Ina Smith, Planning Manager at the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) and DOAJ Senior Ambassador for Africa, introduces the DOAJ and DOAJ Ambassadors in Africa, outlining their role and activities, and available DOAJ training materials. She examines the growth in the indexing of African journals in the DOAJ, while also highlighting the most common reasons why applications are rejected.
