PROJECT country – Mexico became an EIFL project country in 2010. The Public Libraries Coordination, State of Yucatan, Mexico, is one of our Public Library Innovation Programme (PLIP) Phase 1 grantees. In Phase 1, EIFL-PLIP funded 12 libraries to use technology in innovative ways to serve vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities.
‘U kúuchil Na’at’ – Mayan for ‘House of Knowledge’ – a digital archive for the Maya Indians of Yucatan province in Mexico is now up and running. The archive is the library’s first service especially for the Maya. It provides access to Mayan culture, through film, music, poetry and literature. It also provides valuable information about education, training and other opportunities for the Maya. Learn more
