Two leading universities in Myanmar, University of Mandalay and University of Yangon, will launch open access (OA) institutional repositories on May 8 (in Mandalay) and on May 11 (in Yangon).

The two repositories were set up with support from EIFL. Iryna Kuchma, EIFL Open Access Programme Manager, will attend the launch events, and meet with faculty members and librarians to discuss further steps for repository development.

Kuchma will also meet with the rectors of Dagon University and Yangon University of Economics and with pro-rectors of Yadanabon University, who have also expressed interest in setting up OA institutional repositories.
