Open access publishing workshop in Nairobi

Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) and the University of Nairobi will host an open access publishing workshop.

Workshop attendees will include staff from Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research offices, members of Boards for Postgraduate Research, scholarly journals editors, researchers and librarians from the University of Nairobi and KLISC member institutions.

EIFL-OA Programme Manager Iryna Kuchma will attend the workshop and will give an introduction to open access publishing.

Ina Smith, an expert on open access from Stellenbosch University (SU) in South Africa, will talk about open access publishing from an institutional perspective and will present SU open access publishing platform and its impact.

Background 

The workshop is a part of the project “Open access: Knowledge sharing and sustainable scholarly communication in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda” funded by Spider, the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions DSV, Department of Computer and System Sciences, Stockholm University.
